Two people test positive for White Fungus in Haryana

Reports of White Fungus infection among two women have been reported in Hisar Civil Hospital. The Infected women are undergoing treatment in an isolation ward.

Hisar (Haryana): In the wake of state governments declaring'Black Fungus' infection a notifiable disease, reports of 'White Fungus' infection in people have emerged.

Two cases of white fungus infections have been reported in Hisar Civil Hospital among two Covid positive women who are over 60-years of age.

According to doctors, the infected women are diabetics and have been admitted to the isolation ward and they are being administered anti-fungal medication.

Experts opine that the White Fungus is less dangerous when compared to the Black Fungus (Mucormycosis).

In those affected by the disease, blisters are formed on the skin, mouth, tongue and jaw.

• Drink plenty of fluids.
• Gargle daily with warm water and take care of cleanliness.
• Control sugar intake.
• Consult a doctor if you have pain while eating or drinking or chewing.
