Ambulance driver bills patient Rs 1,20,000

A case of an ambulance driver charging Rs 1,20,000 to a Covid patient for travel from Gurugram to Ludhiana has come to the fore. However, the ambulance service provider has said that an investigation is underway and strict action will be taken.

Gurugram (Haryana):An ambulance driver has been accused of charging Rs 1,20,000 towards rental charges of the vehicle by the relatives of a covid infected patient.

The family members of the victim have alleged that the ambulance driver had charged the amount to take the patient from Gurugram to Ludhiana. They have registered a complaint in this regard with the district administration.

The victim's family members have also expressed their anger saying that despite having called the helpline numbers issued by the district administration, none pick the phone. They added that since none picked up the call, they had to arrange an ambulance immediately and take the patient to Ludhiana.

Following the incident, the ambulance service provider said that an investigation has been launched and that if the driver is found guilty he will not be spared.
