New Delhi:A special session for women at the Kisan Sansad (Farmer Parliament) was organized on Monday running parallel to the country's Parliament at Delhi's Jantar Mantar. Women farmers say that the Essential Commodities Act will directly affect them as it is also related to rising inflation. Also, this law will also end the ration distribution system in future. ETV Bharat held a special conversation with Suhasini Ali, leader of All India Kisan Sabha, regarding the topics discussed in the Women's Parliament and the resolutions passed.
Suhasini Ali says discussions were held mainly on the three agricultural laws and the ongoing movement against it, but the main point of discussion was the rising inflation and the matter of abolishing the Essential Commodities Act. Women have gathered information on this in depth and even debated about the disadvantages of the Act. "The message is that if women are given the opportunity, they can do any work. There is no place for women in the Parliament of the country and there are only 8 to 10 percent women MPs. Today, a resolution has been passed in the women's parliament that the 33% reservation bill should be brought soon and the participation of women should be ensured in the country's parliament. If people will come here or see through the media then they will definitely understand what democracy really is," Suhasini Ali said.
