New Delhi: Congress party is working on a formula for appointing a Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief along with two working Presidents, sources say. While Sidhu is among the front runners for this plum post, Congress is also looking to strike a balance in terms of caste and community in view of the upcoming Assembly polls. The final announcement over revamp in Punjab Congress will be done within the next 2-3 days. However, top sources of Congress party informed that no decision has been taken as of now. "Congress has done consultation at all the levels. Therefore, no chance of any kind of resentment within the party," said a senior party leader.
A meeting of Punjab Congress in-charge Harish Rawat was scheduled with party's former president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday. However, Gandhi had to skip this meeting due to some reasons. "There was a meeting scheduled with Rahul Gandhi but he got stuck somewhere. After that, a meeting of the Parliamentary Strategy Group was also going to be held. I will request him to hold the meeting tomorrow. No discussion has taken place over Punjab issue today," Rawat told reporters, while returning from Gandhi's residence on Wednesday.
