Priyanka allotted a room in Cong HQ at Akbar road

New Delhi: Priyanka Gandhi's return to the national capital, after a private visit to the United States, was marked with a series of developments on Tuesday.

Her entry into active politics after being appointed as the party's General Secretary In charge of Uttar Pradesh - East, reflected at the Congress party's headquarters on Akbar road, in the form of a separate room with her nameplate.

The room was earlier occupied by the present Congress President Rahul Gandhi, during his tenure as the party's Vice President, and the adjacent room belonged to former Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

Priyanka's entry, after Rahul and Sonia had occupied Vice President and President posts, brings back two persons from the Gandhi's family together, who would decide on the party's strategy along with other senior leaders.

No sooner did she return to the country, Priyanka shifted to 'action mode' and has been holding meetings with the leaders of Uttar Pradesh, along with Rahul.

She will also join the general secretaries meeting on February 7, under the chairmanship of Rahul Gandhi.
