New Delhi: A Delhi Police constable saved lives of as many as 70 sex workers, who got trapped in their building on GB road here after a fire broke out in an adjacent shop on Thursday night.
Soon after the fire broke out in the crowded area with small lanes, the police constable reached there and started evacuating the sex workers. He helped them come out of the building and asked them to sit in an open space till the fire is doused.
Some of the sex workers said had he not come asking us to get out of the building, many of us would have died.
