New Delhi: The South Bengal Frontier of the Border Security Force (BSF) has taken tough measures against human trafficking along the Indo-Bangladesh border over the past few months and has successfully thwarted several human trafficking attempts in a big way. In this connection, on June 7, the troops stationed at the Ghojadanga Indian Check Post at Itindaghat, West Bengal apprehended a Bangladeshi human trafficker who was on the wanted list of the police for a very long time.
Acting on a tip-off provided by the Intelligence Branch of BSF, the troops of Border Out Post belonging to the 153 Battalion, nabbed the trafficker. Following a search, the personnel recovered 02 mobile phones, Indian SIM cards (Airtel), 05 Bangladeshi SIM cards and many fake Aadhaar cards. The ambush party immediately arrested the trafficker and brought him to the Border Out Post in Ghojadanga for further interrogation. The man has been identified as Hassan Ghazi (28), son of Late Arshad Morol, who resides in Basirhat, North 24 Parganas district in West Bengal. Further, he revealed that he hails from the Satkhira district in Bangladesh.
