New Delhi:The Delhi Police has registered an FIR against unidentified persons in a case of vandalism outside the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday.
The Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia in a tweet on Wednesday alleged that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) desires to murder Aam Aadmi Party President (AAP) and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. He warned BJP in a press conference, "don't try to touch Arvind Kejriwal, the country will not tolerate it."
The tweet came after activists of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) led by its president Tejasvi Surya staged a protest at Kejriwal's residence demanding his apology for allegedly "mocking" Kashmiri Pandits. They attacked Kejriwal's house, broke CCTV cameras, security barriers, and the boom barriers on the gate.
Manish Sisodia alleged, "BJP goons ransacked Arvind Kejriwal's house". Not only this, he said, "Instead of stopping them, the BJP police brought them to the door." The incident took place during the protest organized at the residence of the Chief Minister located in Civil Lines against the statement given by the CM in the assembly regarding the film Kashmir Files. The house was vandalized while people raised slogans.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann slammed the incident, "BJP’s frustration over the crushing defeat in Punjab at the hands of the Aam Aadmi Party is clear now. The attack on the house of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the presence of police is a very cowardly act. It is now clear that the BJP fears only AAP and Arvind Kejriwal."
AAP leader Sanjay Singh said, "the Kashmiri pandits are an excuse, BJP wants to kill Arvind Kejriwal. BJP MP Tejasvi Surya had the audacity to attack along with the BJP goons."
Addressing a press conference at the BJP head office, Tejasvi Surya demanded an apology from Kejriwal and said that the AAP leader has insulted Hindus with his remarks about the movie. Kejriwal's remarks is an attempt to "whitewash the genocide", he said. "This attempt to whitewash the genocide is injustice on a civilisation," said Surya.
