Agra (Uttar Pradesh): Family of Pulwama martyr Kaushal Kumar Rawat on Thursday took to protest in front of the statue of the jawan demanding that their requests be fulfilled. According to Mamta Rawat, wife of the martyred jawan, none of the demands which were assured has been fulfilled to date, adding that she had appealed for the same to UP CM Yogi Adityanath and PM Narendra Modi towards releasing the financial assistance which was to be provided by the education department to the family. Following the news of the slain jawan's family sitting on a protest, several officials including Agra ADM, CO Sadar and Sub-Collector arrived to meet the martyr’s wife.
The Uttar Pradesh state government had made several promises which include Rs 25 lakh financial assistance, allocation of land to build a memorial for the martyr and to name a road in the village after the martyr. But none of the promises made was fulfilled. Though a statue of the soldier was installed by the family members in their private land at Kahrai village, even after a year the statue has not been unveiled, as officials have not yet come to inaugurate it.
