Suresh Prabhu: No barrier should be put in free flow of trade

Suresh Prabhu said, 'terrorism, building quality infrastructure and global economic stability' will be key priorities of India at the G20 summit.

New Delhi:Ahead of the G20 summit in Japan, India's G20 Sherpa Suresh Prabhu said that there should not be any barrier on the free flow of trade. He said it in reference to India-US trade face off which is underway.

When asked whether PM Modi will take up ongoing trade face off with US President Donald Trump at the summit, he said, "The United States is one of the biggest trading partners of India. It is also one of the biggest beneficiaries of this relationship. And, we believe that this relationship should grow for mutual benefit."

Stressing on the resolution of the dispute, the former Civil Aviation Minister also talked about the strengthening of the World Trade Organisation. He said, "no out of WTO sanctions should be put on the free flow of trade."

Prime Minister Modi will take part in the G20 summit on June 27-28. According to MEA sources, Prime Minister Modi will have bilateral meetings with US President Donald Trump Japanese Prime Minister shinzo abe Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President XI Jinping.

Not only this, informal meeting of the members of BRICS will also take place during the course of the summit.
