New Delhi:The nationwide relaxations in lockdown and re-opening of critical industries have paved the way for a marginal recovery of five per cent in hiring activities in July compared to June, Naukri.com said on Wednesday.
However, compared to the same month a year ago, hiring activity is still down by 47 per cent in July of this year due to the Covid-19 disruptions, according to the Naukri JobSpeak Index for July.
Industries such as hotel, restaurant, airlines, travel, retail, real estate and oil & gas, and power continue to struggle in the month of July compared to the same month last year, said the report.
However, key sectors like BPO/IT enabled Services (ITeS), fast-moving consumer goods, pharma/biotech, IT-hardware and medical/healthcare were least impacted in hiring in July compared to last year.
"July'20 marks marginal recovery in month-on-month hiring activities. Industries such as recruitment /employment, media/entertainment and construction/engineering bounce back with positive signs in hiring month-over-month as lockdown restrictions are eased further," Pawan Goyal, Chief Business Officer, Naukri.com, said in a statement.
