New Delhi: As soon as the Modi government took charge of its second consecutive term, two big decisions were rolled out in the very first cabinet meeting for farmers.
PM Kisan scheme is now open for all farmers and the pension scheme was also announced after the cabinet meeting on Friday.
PM Kisan scheme will now cost Rs 87,000 crore to the government exchequer and 14.5 crore farmers will be benefitted from the scheme.
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Pension Yojna approved by the cabinet aims to benefit small and marginal farmers. Through this voluntary pension scheme farmers between the age group of 18-40 years can opt for the scheme and they will get a pension of Rs 8,000 after attaining 60 years of age.
