Aranmula: Aranmula Kannadi is a mirror which exposes the image of kerala's tradition. It was in use much before the appearance of mordern day glass mirrors. The tradition of making these mirrors goes back to 500 years.

There is an abundant relation between aranmulla kannadi and copper mirrors that has been found in Harrappa and Mohanjodaro civilization. After 4000 years, the copper mirrors are being produced only in Aranmula.

One of the speciality of Kerala is the knowledge in metallurgical art of making metal mirrors. Aranmula Kannadi shows their ampleness in the combination of heritage and culture.

There is a belief that Aranmula Kannadi if kept at home brings wealth and prosperity to its owner. When you touch a piece of paper on the surface of an ordinary mirror, a gap remains between the paper and the image produced.

But, in the case of the Aranmula metal mirror, there will be no gap between the image and the object. This indicates the fact that only a real, distortion-free image is produced on an Aranmula Kannadi.
