Jhelum Fables: J&K youth learn visual storytelling in 5-day workshop

A five-day visual storytelling and photography workshop was organised on a boathouse in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar aiming to increase the creativity of the youths in the state.

Srinagar: A special five-day visual storytelling workshop titled 'Jhelum Fables' was organised on a boathouse in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar with the aim of channeling the creative skills of its youth.

Organised by a young entrepreneur, and founder of ROOTS learning group, Mahi Burza, the workshop provided a platform to its participants to showcase their talent and creativity through photography and writing.

"The motive behind this workshop is to give wings to the youth's imagination. The soul of this workshop is imagination and creativity. What better place to conduct such a workshop than on the beautiful Jhelum River, a muse of so many poets over the years!," said mentor Dr. Tabeenah Anjum Qureshi.

Afaan Qadri, a participant, and a photography enthusiast shared how he was able to add another dimension to his craft. "From this workshop, we were able to cultivate a creative eye which helped us to see the world through different lenses. The same creativity also started to reflect in our writings and photography."

Surrounded by the serene landscape, the workshop aimed at sharpening the imagination and creativity of participants through creative writing and photography.
