Target of doubling farmer income by 2022: Narendra Singh Tomar

The newly appointed Minister of Agriculture Narendra Singh Tomar said that doubling farmer income by 2022 would be his primary focus.

Narendra Modi: Narendra Singh Tomar, the newly appointed Union Minister of Agriculture on Friday said that doubling farmer income by 2022 would be his primary focus. Apart from the above, as Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, he aims at providing houses to the economically downtrodden by 2022.

The newly appointed minister also asked the state governments to cooperate in implementing the schemes related to agriculture. He also mentioned that the government has already been providing the minimum support price as per the Swaminathan Committee report.

"The Modi government has already implemented many schemes for the benefit of farmers and will continue to do so," Tomar said.

Narendra Singh Tomar has been appointed as the Minister of Agriculture. He has also been reassigned the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Ministry.
