Sri lanka serial blasts: 7 Karnataka JD(S) leaders are missing, 2 feared dead

Following a series of bombings in Sri Lanka, two of the 7 JD(S) leaders have been confirmed dead by Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy. The seven leaders visited Sri Lanka on 20th of April and checked into Shangrilla Hotel.

Nelamangala: Two of the 7 JD(S) leaders who were reported missing after serial bombings in Colombo, have been confirmed dead by Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy. The party leaders had left for Sri Lanka on April 20 after campaigning for Veerappa Moily in Bengaluru.

Confirming the tragic demise of two leaders, Kumaraswamy said, "I'm shocked to hear that a 7-member team of JDS workers from Karnataka, who were touring Colombo, has gone missing after bomb blasts. 2 of them are feared killed."

He added: "I'm in constant touch with Indian High Commission on reports of those missing."

Mare Gowda from Adakimaranahalli village of Bangalore North, Harokyathanahalli Puttaraju, Govenahalli Shivanna of Nelamangala, Muniyappa, Lakshminarayana, Hanumantharayappa from Bangalore and Ramesh were missing after the series of bomb blasts in the country.

They leaders reached Sri Lanka on the 20th of this month around 8 am.

Later, they informed their family about staying in Shangrilla Hotel room no. 618, 619.
