Dehradun: The most coveted Sword of Honour of the British Army is made in India. The unique sword manufactured in Uttarakhand's Dehradun will be presented in the passing out parade of the British Army next month.

By casting metals in clay mounds, these swords are made at an iron factory owned by Nasim Ali. The over 4-decade-old factory holds expertise in producing khukris and swords of import quality.

While the supply was earlier restricted to the Indian Army, eventually the demands grew and his imports reached various countries of the world like Australia, Britain, and the United States of America among others.

While owner Ali takes pride in receiving the order from the British Army, he says that he needs to expedite the process of completing his order, so that it reaches on time.

Currently, his factory is glued to deliver around 200 swords to different customers.

About the sword:

Apart from its unique texture, the sword weighs light compared to regular swords. Termed as the presentation sword, it has impressions of World War I on its carefully carved handle.
