Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh): Hailing from UP's Shravasti district, 'Modi Mango' - a special variety named after the Prime Minister, attracted large crowds to the two-day 'Mango Festival' at Lucknow's Indira Gandhi Pratishthaan, which ended on Sunday.
About 700 varieties of mangoes were showcased at the exhibition, during which 2896 samples (of mangoes) were displayed by 710 participants.
Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Ram Naik praised the state for producing delicious mangoes 'Modi Mango' attracted more visitors to the festival, remarked the organisers.
In addition to this, Dashhari, Chausa, Husnara, Langda and other varieties were on display by mango growers from Malihabad, Saharanpur, Meerut and other cities of Uttar Pradesh.
During the closing ceremony of the festival, Governor of Uttar Pradesh Ram Naik praised the state's farmers for producing such delicious mangoes.
The festival was organised by the Department of Horticulture and Food Processing and Department of Forests.
