New Delhi:The EVM issue is back in the apex court as a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Supreme Court (SC) by Manohar Lal Sharma on Thursday seeking fresh Lok Sabha polls using ballot papers.

A PIL has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking a fresh round of Lok Sabha elections by using only ballot papers. Meanwhile, the petition will be heard on Friday by the vacation bench of the Supreme Court.
EVM ISSUE BACK IN SC
ML Sharma, in his petition, said that the Election Commission (EC) does not have the power to hold elections by using EVMs. He further claimed that as per the Representation of People's Act, an election can be held only using ballot papers.
Meanwhile, the petition will be heard on Friday by the vacation bench of the Supreme Court for an urgent hearing.
