Guwahati:In accordance with the Supreme Court's directions, the final list of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) is scheduled to be published on August 31.
The NRC update is the result of agitation in the state that pivoted on the demand to drive out people who had entered Assam illegally.
Citizens in the state can check their names in the Final NRC as follows:
1. From September 7, 2019, the status of all NRC applicants will be available online and can be seen by typing out the ARN (Application Reference Number).
2. The online facility will be available from August 31, which will give the result of any change in status from Complete Draft NRC for claimants/ Objectees/ any member included in Draft but were called for any hearing held on or after 5 July 2019.
3. People who submitted claims as they were not included in Complete Draft list (published on 30th July 2018) or in Additional Draft Exclusions list (published on 26th June 2019) or had any objection filed against their inclusion, can see their status of inclusion in Supplementary Inclusions List. Supplementary Inclusions List will be available with designated NSK/Office of Circle Officers /Office of Deputy Commissioners and will also be available on NRC website as “Supplementary Inclusions /Exclusions Lists (Final NRC) status”.
