New Delhi: Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy on Tuesday said, that till June 16, 2019, security forces have killed 113 militants. As many as 18 civilians have also lost their lives during this period in the state.
"The government has adopted a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism. Security forces are taking effective and continuous action in countering terrorism," he added.
113 terrorists killed in J&K this year: Home Affairs Minister The security forces had killed 257 terrorists in 2018, 213 in 2017 and 150 in 2016, that is, in 3 years, the security forces piled up 733 terrorists, it said.
"Security forces keep a close watch on persons who attempt to provide support to terrorists and initiate action against them," he informed.
Under the Zero Tolerance policy of the Government of India, the security forces had a major success on May 23, in which they had killed former terrorist Zakir Musa during an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir.
