Chemical attack attempt on Kanhaiya Kumar at UP 'Yuva Sansad'

A student attempted to throw a chemical at Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar while the latter was attending the 'Yuva Sansad' organized at the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) office on Tuesday. The students present in the event tried to throw the chemical on Kanhaiya as soon as he ascended the stage of the Youth Parliament.

The students present in the event tried to throw the chemical on Kanhaiya as soon as he ascended the stage of the Youth Parliament.

Though Kanhaiya was safe, the chemical spilled on some of the students attending the event. The office-bearers of the Youth Congress and National Students Union of India (NSUI) present in the program caught hold of the student and thrashed him fiercely. According to the sources, the student Devansh Bajpai started raising slogans against Kanhaiya Kumar and called him a traitor as soon as he ascended the stage. The police took the student into custody. State General Secretary of Youth Congress Sandeep Tripathi said the incident was "a conspiracy".
