New Delhi:Indian Youth Congress, on Monday, held a protest at the Krishi Bhavan, demanding justice for the farmers who lost their lives while protesting against the three farm laws brought by the BJP-ruled central government recently.
National President of Indian Youth Congress (IYC), BV Srinivas said, "In this bitter cold when the general public is leaving Delhi, due to fear of COVID-19, the farmers across the country have gathered vigorously on all the borders of the National capital and are demanding the government to withdraw these black laws non-violently. However, in such a difficult situation, all the leaders and ministers of the BJP, according to their habit, are humiliating these farmers with words like Khalistani and anti-national."
"In the last 25 days, more than 25 farmers have been martyred in this movement. There are constant deaths of farmers and the Prime Minister of this country is busy doing events from Varanasi to Gujarat. PM Narendra Modi is busy doing Maan Ki Baat, but he is not listening to the farmers. The government should not underestimate the strength of farmers," he further added.
IYC National Incharge and AICC Joint Secretary Krishna Allavaru said, "Despite the BJP not having a majority in the Rajya Sabha, passed these black laws from the Rajya Sabha, this is a murder of democracy. The Central Government is not at all interested to reply to this movement of farmers in Parliament, hence the Winter Session of Parliament is not being called. When elections can be held in Bihar, there can be big rallies in Bengal, then why can't the Parliament session be held?"
