Bilaspur:Muritram Kashyap, a visually impaired man from Chhattisgarh's Bilaspur, is on an initiative to bring a positive change in the lives of children around him. Despite being less educated and visually impaired Kashyap has been imparting free education to the children so that they are not deprived of education.
Kashyap lost his eyesight at the age of six due to smallpox after which he completed his education with difficulties, owing to which he decided to teach the underprivileged children for free. The modus operandi that Kashyap adopts is not easy. He first purchases the books in Braille script, then he studies before teaching the children. Kashyap says that even though he is less educated, the children he taught are now holding good positions in various organisations.

Since childhood Kashyap wanted to pursue higher education, however, due to family responsibilities, he could only complete his matriculation.

During his studies in Government Braille School located at Juni Line of Bilaspur, Kashyap stayed in a hostel where he learned the art of chair caning. It was during his stay in the hostel, a senior railway official came to visit the school and seeing him working he offered him a job in the railways and put him in the work of chair caning in the railway. He passed the matriculation examination while doing the job.
Kashyap was blessed with two boys and two girls. All his children are also highly educated. One of his sons told that he is proud that his father, being a disabled person, has raised him so well. He takes pride in bringing his friends home and introducing them to his father. When most of the fathers are not able to raise their children well despite being physically capable, but their father has done his duty even though he is disabled.
One of the students of Kashyap said that he has taken tuition in many places, but when Kashyap teaches the same he understands well and he doesn't find such education anywhere.
