“You’re yelling”, “So is the baby”: Man throws a fit on flight over crying baby

A video of a passenger shouting at the flight attendants over a crying baby has triggered a debate on the social media.

New Delhi: A TikTok video of an angry man yelling at flight attendants over a crying baby has recently gone viral triggering a debate on social media over travelling with children on flights. In the video, an elderly man is seen shouting at the baby's parents and the flight attendants who tried to pacify him.

The video was first shared on TikTok under the title "Belligerent passenger causes diversion" and then went viral on social media. A fellow passenger recorded the incident when the man was involved in a heated exchange with two flight attendants. A flight attendant is heard saying "You are yelling" and the angry passenger replies, "So is the baby".

The video has raised an uproar on social media with several users criticising the man for his rude behaviour while a few extending their sympathy for his situation. A user commented, “If you can’t handle the sound of a crying baby or toddler, maybe air travel or being in public isn’t for you. Personally, I’d be embarrassed by my inability to cope with something so basic that happens all the time. But I just believe that’s part of being a functioning adult.”

Another user wrote: "The only baby on that flight is the grown adult having a petulant meltdown".

According to a user, “This is why I wish airlines could offer child-free flights! I’d pay extra, no questions asked.”

"How do you manage a baby that has pain because of air compression or decompression? If you are so fragile by a baby crying instead of having sympathy for the parents and baby, stay out of public places maybe," pointed out another user.

One user even suggested, "If you are especially annoyed by crying, or are worried that it could disrupt your flight…. Bring headphones. This is super basic yet people are going to jail over it now"

Summing it up, a user wrote, "Between “Sir you’re yelling!” …. “SO IS THE BABY!!!” and “If that was a Black baby…They do not pay flight attendants enough and thank God they don’t arm them."
