Giving information about this, VHP's General Secretary Surendra Jain said that today the debate over forced religious conversion has emerged as a big problem across the country. This is the biggest crime against humanity and many states have made laws against it. Now, it is high time that the Centre should also consider this at the earliest. A central law should be made against religious conversion.

The second demand is the law to free the temples from the control of the government. Surendra Jain said Hindu society is capable of taking care of its temples. The Supreme Court has also said that the work of governments was not to build or run temples or other religious places. Now, the central government should make a law and free all temples from government clutches.

At present many major temples of the country are running independently. The Prime Minister and the Home Minister themselves have also visited such temples and are aware of the arrangements there. Therefore, now it is the right time to end their domination over the temples by enacting a law on this subject.

VHP has been continuously raising its voice against religious conversions. Some states ruled by the BJP have also enacted laws, but despite this, the maximum number of conversion cases are coming from Uttar Pradesh itself. On Sunday, in praise of the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh, Amit Shah said that the Yogi government has done the work of ending the goonda and mafia raj in UP.

But did the Yogi government lag behind in curbing religious conversions? In response to this question, the VHP General Secretary said that in the states where laws have been made against conversion, the Yogi government has made the most concrete law. As far as numbers are concerned, this work is being done in almost all the states of the country. Giving the example of Kerala, Surendra Jain said that there are good number of cases in that state.

The VHP has also reacted to religious appeasement efforts. When the second wave of the Covid-19 epidemic came under control, different states tried to relax the Covid protocol for religious events to the people according to their priorities. But later when the Supreme Court intervened, the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh had to ban the Kanwar Yatra. On the other hand, the Kerala government talked about relaxing the Covid rules on the occasion of Eid. The matter reached the Supreme Court and after the order came, the government had to withdraw its decision.

But Surendra Jain says that despite the order of the Supreme Court in Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan's government gave relaxation in the Covid-19 rules by putting people's lives at risk. This is the reason that today the highest number of infection cases in the country are coming from Kerala and if there is a third wave in India, it will come due to the Kerala government.
