New Delhi: Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar has found himself in hot soup after he compared right-wing organisations - RSS and Bajrang Dal - with the Taliban during an interview. His comments have evoked a strong reaction from the other side.

Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) spokesperson Vinod Bansal has said that some Muslim fundamentalists living in India are also very excited by the increasing influence of Taliban in Afghanistan. "Probably, it is the result of the same enthusiasm that a separate room has also been allotted for Namaz in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly," he claimed.

Responding to Javed Akhtar, the VHP spokesperson said that it is surprising that people like Javed Akhtar, who call themselves intellectuals in India, indirectly support the Taliban. By comparing the Sangh, VHP and Bajrang Dal with Taliban, Javed Akhtar has abused us. "Javed Akhtar must know how Taliban treats women. He doesn't want to let women out of the black sack. If Akhtar went to Afghanistan with an actress, he would not be able to come back alive," Bansal said.

Vinod Bansal further said that Muslims in India are safe only as long as Hindus are in majority.

"Go to any country in the world, in most of the Muslim countries, Muslims themselves are not safe. Same is the situation in Afghanistan where it is the Muslim who is killing the Muslim. The situation of the remaining minorities is even worse. So Javed Akhtar should refrain from making holes in the plate in which he eats," Bansal warned.
