New Delhi:Days after the sudden demise of veteran Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Uttarakhand Assembly Indira Hridayesh, the state party leaders have decided to let Congress president Sonia Gandhi choose a replacement. The Uttarakhand Congress Legislative Party (CLP) held a meeting in New Delhi in this regard on Monday.

"The state leaders passed a resolution during the meeting that Sonia Gandhi will zero in on the name for the post," a Congress leader told ETV Bharat. Later, Uttarakhand Congress in-charge Devendra Yadav tweeted, "Held a meeting of INC Uttarakhand Legislative Party to decide the new CLP leader for the State after the sudden demise of Indira Hridyesh. It was unanimously decided to request Honourable INC India President Sonia Gandhi to decide the same (sic)."
