New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Civil Aviation Minister Nand Gopal Gupta on Tuesday met Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia in New Delhi and informed that the foundation laying ceremony for the Noida International Airport in Jewar is under planning. Along with this, the two ministers also discussed on development work of over a dozen airports in the state.
As per the government officials, the foundation stone for the Jewar airport would be laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi by the end of this month. "In relation to the additional 60 acres of land for Ayodhya airport, the survey work is being done by the AAI for the actual identification of the land by superimposing the master plan provided by the AAI. After the completion of the survey, the process of purchase or acquisition of the desired land will be started after receiving the information about land requirements," said a state government official while briefing on the meeting of two ministers.
According to the government officials, a letter has been sent to the Chairman of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) on August 9, 2021 to obtain consent on the draft of the lease deed for the development of the first phase of Ayodhya airport. The Union Civil Aviation Minister and UP Minister talked about the development work of Aligarh, Azamgarh, Shravasti and Moradabad airports which are selected under the UDAN - Regional Air Connectivity (RCS) scheme. The Union Minister was informed that about 95-99 per cent of construction work has been completed.
