Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) have come across some important clues related to activities of terrorists. According to ADG Law and Order, henchmen of underworld mafia don Dawood Ibrahim had conducted a recce of many religious places in Uttar Pradesh in December 2019.
During that time, they had stayed for four days in Roshannagar locality of Kanpur. They were accompanied by two arms smugglers from Bihar, including a woman. Teams of ATS and NIA have been camping in the city since the fact came to light. The joint team also procured CCTV footage from two houses in search of three more suspects.
Last week, Delhi and UP ATS teams arrested six persons, including two terrorists. The in-laws of Mohammad Aamir Javed, nabbed by the ATS from Lucknow, are from Roshannagar, Lucknow. Suspected mastermind Humaid, arrested from Prayagraj, is Aamir's brother-in-law. Aamir's Innova car was recovered from his in-laws' house. Arms were delivered to the terrorists from this car. Investigation by the ATS and NIA revealed that the car is registered in the name of Aamir's father.
According to ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar, the agencies have come to know about the house where Dawood's henchmen had stayed. A team went to the house to investigate but found it empty. According to sources, a woman and three men were living in this house till three months ago and then left for somewhere. The house has been lying vacant since then. The landlord is being questioned.
