Raebareli (Uttar Pradesh): A youth, spurned by the girl he loved and angry with her marriage being fixed with someone else, poured acid on her while she was sleeping at night along with her younger brother. Both the girl and her brother got burnt and screamed out following the attack.
The incident occurred late in the night at village Sikanderpur under Maharajganj poice station area in Raebareli. As the victims started screaming, other family members woke up and there was chaos in the entire village.

The police reached the information and started investigating the matter.

According to information received, 16-year-old Kiran and her brother Aman were sleeping on a cot outside the house along with other family members late Sunday. Someone then came, threw acid at them and ran away.
On receiving the information, Superintendent of Police Shlok Kumar reached the spot along with his team. On the basis of the complaint by the family, he immediately filed a case. One Bablu Lodh, a resident of the same village, was arrested in this connection.
According to Shlok Kumar, there was a conversation between the victim and the accused. Bablu was angry about Kiran's marriage getting fixed with comeone else and had threatened to kill her father. Police is currently interrogating Bablu.
