New Delhi:A week after "temporarily suspending" the account of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for sharing a picture of a nine-year-old rape victim's family, Twitter has finally restored it on Saturday. Apart from Gandhi, the micro-blogging platform also restored the accounts of 22 Congress leaders, including Randeep Surjewala, Ajay Maken, KC Venugopal, Manickam Tagore, Sushmita Dev, Pawa Khera and the official handle of the Congress party.
The development comes a day after Gandhi released a video statement titled 'Twitter's Dangerous Games', on the party's youtube channel alleging that the social media giant had "breached" the idea of a neutral platform which will eventually have "repercussions" on its own. He said, "It’s obvious now that Twitter is actually not a neutral, objective platform. It is a biased platform. It's something that listens to what the government of the day says."
