Agartala: The Tripura government has decided to promote nearly 1,87,744 students, studying in Classes V, VII, IX and XI without conducting any examination, keeping in mind the prevailing COVID-19 situation in the country, state education minister Ratan Lal Nath said on Thursday.
Briefing the media at the civil secretariat, Ratan Lal said, also hinted at a possible re-evaluation, in the matter pertaining to the promotion and academics, once normalcy is restored in the state.

“The study curriculum has been largely affected by the pandemic in the year 2020 and 2021. The Corona crisis has devastated the normal course of studies of lakhs for lakhs of students. In view of the whole scenario, the department has decided to promote students of the fifth and eighth standard for a time being. But, as soon as things stumble back to normalcy, an evaluation of the promoted students will surely be carried out”, Nath said.
