Agartala: Tripura government has imposed stringent night curfew rules that will come into effect from Tuesday (May 4). As per the new orders, the curfew timings have been revised from 10 pm to 5 am to 6 pm to 5 am in order to contain the fresh spike in cases.
In addition, all the 20-urban local bodies except Agartala city which were so far exempted from the curfew restrictions have been brought under the purview of the regulations, Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said on Monday.
According to Nath, the cases have been increasing in the state in large numbers. Sharing the figures of positive cases detected since last week, he said, “today 247 cases have been detected positive and the state government cannot remain silent observing the situation. It is quite true that we are still in better condition than many other states of the country but we need to take timely and effective precautions to keep the imminent threat at bay”.
“Considering the whole scenario, the state government has decided to impose night curfew from 6 pm to 5 am. Chief Secretary will issue a detailed guideline in this regard on Monday and the prohibitory orders will come into effect from May 4 in all the 21 urban local bodies including Agartala Municipal Corporation that is contributing the highest number of cases in daily tolls.”, he said.
