Agartala: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made a clean sweep in all the civic bodies where elections were held on November 25. Out of 20 civic bodies, elections were held in 14 and 6 were won by BJP uncontested. The BJP has also won all the 51 seats of Agartala Municipal Corporation.
The election was held on November 25 and the counting was started today morning at around 8 AM. While the BJP has made a clean sweep, the opposition CPIM has won in two wards which is ward number 15 of Ambassa municipal council and in Ward number 2 of Panisagar Municipal Corporation.
The All India Trinamool Congress won in only one ward which is Ward number 13 of Ambassa Municipal Corporation and one seat was won by an independent.
Though the Trinamool Congress couldn’t win a single seat in the AMC, the party has come in the second position in all wards of AMC.
