Agartala (Tripura): Disgruntled by the state BJP’s "biased" role, 450 party supporters, including four Panchayat members, surrendered their party's primary membership on Wednesday.
The local BJP leaders of Purba Gokul Nagar Panchayat area under Bishalgarh sub-division alleged that despite repeated complaints, the party high command did not take any action against a section of the BJP’s youth wing, whose members were consistently tarnishing the party's image. The mass resignation of the local BJP karyakartas could be seen as the outburst of simmering resentment brewing for some time.

Speaking on the issue, BJP booth president Nimai Biswas said, "We don’t get any justice. We have been working for the party for a long time but there is no one to hear our problems and resolve them. It is unacceptable to see Juba Morcha supporters attacking karyakartas of their own party. Today, we have decided to quit the party. Four elected Panchayat members and two booth presidents will also quit.”
