Uttar Pradesh:The Agra police on Wednesday arrested three Kashmiri students for allegedly celebrating Pakistan's victory over India in the T20 World Cup match held on October 24 and posting anti-India messages on social media platforms.
A case has been registered against the students, who are studying at Raja Balwant Singh Engineering College in Agra district of Uttar Pradesh, and they have been arrested. The college administration has expelled the three students and arrested them after registering an FIR in the Jagdishpur Police Station based on a complaint lodged by BJP leaders. They are being questioned.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Uttar Pradesh Minority Commission chairman Ashfaq Saifi said that police arrested three students and necessary action was being taken against them.

If anyone is found involved in the case, strict action will be taken against them. Police are investigating the case." The conspiracy angle is also being investigated and the police kept tabs on those, who are in contact with them and their mobiles and laptops will also be checked, he said.

If the game should not be viewed from a sports perspective, to what extent is it right to ruin the future of these students? "In response to this query, he said that when it comes to the country, patriotic sentiments prevail over the game." He said that the country is at the top. Therefore, such a move cannot be tolerated at all and the police are taking strict action against it.
The three students have been identified as Arshad Yousaf, Inayat Altaf, a third-year student of Civil engineering, and Shaukat Ahmed Ghanai, a fourth-year engineering student. All the students are studying at RBS Engineering College in Bichpuri. The students have been arrested under Section 153 (A) (Promoting disharmony) and 505 (Publishing and circulating a statement or report containing rumour or alarming news)
