Two women Army officers have been selected to train as helicopter pilots at Combat Army Aviation Training School, Nashik, informed the Indian Army on Wednesday.

Union minister Prakash Javadekar said that the cabinet approved the allocation of 5 MHz spectrum in the 700 MHz band to Indian Railways for improving its communication and signalling systems. It will help in augmenting both communication and signalling networks of the railways.

1. India’s GDP will grow at 8.3% this year: World Bank

India’s economy will grow at 8.3% in the current fiscal due to higher spending on infrastructure, rural development, and health, and a stronger-than-expected recovery in services, said the World Bank, adding that the growth rate will decline to 7.5% in the next fiscal.

2. 17 killed in road accident in UP's Kanpur

At least 17 people were killed in a road accident on the Kanpur-Allahabad highway in the Sachendi area of this Uttar Pradesh district late on Tuesday evening.  

3. Agra hospital sealed over 'mock oxygen drill' video

The Delhi Police has issued a show-cause notice to a woman head constable and a constable for shooting videos for social media in uniform while on duty, officials said on Tuesday. Officials also said the duo were not adhering to coronavirus guidelines while filming the videos.

5. Tokyo Olympics: After uproar over Chinese sponsor, Indian contingent to wear unbranded apparel

The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) on Tuesday decided that the nation's athletes would wear unbranded sports apparel in the Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo from July 23 to August 8, 2021.
