1. SC adjourns hearing into Pegasus snoop gate to Tuesday

The Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing into the Pegasus snoop gate to Tuesday. The bench asked the petitioners to serve a copy of the petitions to the Union of India and sought a reply from the government by next Tuesday.

The long-drawn power tussle between the Delhi LG and the AAP dispensation resurfaced on Wednesday with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal accusing Anil Baijal of holding "parallel" meetings with officials "behind the back" of the elected government. Kejriwal's remarks came in response to a tweet by Lt Governor Baijal sharing details of a Covid review and preparedness meeting held by him along with top Delhi officials, including Chief Secretary Vijay Dev.

2. MP Home Minister rescued, airlifted from flooded village

Home Minister Narottam Mishra, who was surveying the flood-affected villages in Madhya Pradesh's Datia district on Wednesday got caught in the floods and had to be rescued and airlifted. The minister was on a boat of the State Disaster Response Force when a tree broke off and fell on his boat, damaging the motor.

A dominant Vinesh Phogat defeated veteran Sofia Magdalena Mattsson of Sweden 7-1 in Women's 53kg Freestyle wrestling in pre-quarterfinals here at the Tokyo Olympics. The top seed wrestler has now advanced to the quarterfinals.

4. Law and order has improved since Article 370 abrogation: IG CRPF

Two years after the abrogation of Article 370, the law and order situation in Jammu and Kashmir, especially in the Valley, has improved considerably, said IG CRPF Charu Sinha. In an exclusive interview with ETV Bharat, Sinha said fighting extremism is the biggest challenge in the sensitive Jammu and Kashmir.

5. Delay in delivery of Sputnik V to be fully resolved in August

The Sputnik V team on Wednesday confirmed that the temporary delay in delivery due to production scale-up will be fully resolved in August. "Sputnik V team confirms that owing to a major scale-up in vaccine production capacity temporary second component delivery delays that occurred due to this production scale-up will be fully resolved in August," a press release read.
