1. Jaishankar, Blinken discuss strengthening Quad, countering terrorism

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Wednesday said he deeply appreciates the work that India and the US have been able to do together and the work that the two countries to do in the coming months. Blinken said this during his maiden visit to India.

2. Pegasus issue: Opposition leaders discuss strategy to corner govt in Parliament

Amid a stalemate in Parliament over the Pegasus snooping issue, leaders of various opposition parties on Wednesday met and decided to submit similar adjournment notices on the matter. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi attended the meeting at the chamber of the Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge.  

3. Blinken holds talks with NSA Ajit Doval; meets civil society representatives

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Wednesday held talks with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on a range of bilateral and regional issues including the security situation in Afghanistan.

4. Rajnath holds bilateral talks with his Belarusian counterpart in Dushanbe

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday held bilateral talks with his Belarusian counterpart Lt Gen Viktor Khrenin on the sidelines of a conclave of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in Dushanbe. Officials said the two ministers deliberated on bilateral defence cooperation and touched upon regional security challenges.  

5. 2015 Kerala Assembly vandalism: SC rejects state govt's appeal

The Supreme Court has rejected a plea filed by the ruling Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Kerala seeking permission to withdraw cases against its leaders who were involved in the vandalization of the Kerala Assembly in 2015, during tabling of the budget.

1. Four dead, over 30 missing after cloudburst hits J-K's Kishtwar

Four people were killed and 36 are reported missing after a cloudburst in a remote village in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir early Wednesday.

2.Raj Kundra porn case: Police register FIR against 4 Hot Shots producers

In a fresh development in the Raj Kundra pornography case, an FIR has been registered against four producers, including actor Gehana Vasisth of the Hot Shot app, that allegedly streamed sleaze videos, at Malad's Malvani police station.

3. Opposition to submit joint adjournment motion on Pegasus

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders will submit a joint adjournment motion on the Pegasus issue in Lok Sabha today. They said this decision was taken at a meeting of opposition parties on Tuesday which was attended among others by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

4. 1.29 Cr ration cards cancelled, deleted across India

As many as 1.29 crore ration cards were deleted or cancelled by various states and union territories during the last three years with Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra topping the list. The government also acted under the relevant clauses against approximately 20,000 fair price shops (FPS).  

5. Tokyo Olympics, Day 6: Sindhu beats Cheung in straight games, enter pre-quarterfinals

Reigning world champion PV Sindhu advanced to the pre-quarterfinals of women's singles badminton event at the Tokyo Olympics after beating Hong Kong's NY Cheung in a group J match here on Wednesday.
