1. Raj Kundra, Ryan Thorpe sent to judicial custody for 14 days

A court in Mumbai sent actor Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra and his company's IT head Ryan Thorpe to judicial custody for 14 days in the pornography racket case.

2.Assam-Mizoram clashes: Cong forms 7-member committee to assess situation

After the violent clash between Assam and Mizoram over a border dispute, the Congress party has constituted a seven-member committee to assess the situation on the ground. The committee has been asked to submit the report of the matter to Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi.  

3. Suspected militants shoot civilian in J&K's Srinagar

A civilian was allegedly shot by suspected militants in Nawakadal, Srinagar district. The civilian identified as Sheikh Mehran has been shifted to the hospital. Sources said his condition is critical.

4. Delhi Police probe Rahul Gandhi's tractor march to Parliament

The Delhi Police on Tuesday have begun an investigation into Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's tractor march to the Parliament on Monday, saying that tractors were not allowed entry into the premises.  

5. Police to detail violence, injuries at first Jan 6 hearing

Democrats are launching their investigation into the January 6 Capitol insurrection Tuesday with a focus on the law enforcement officers who were attacked and beaten as the rioters broke into the building -- an effort to put a human face on the violence of the day.

1.Assam-Mizoram border clash: Assam announces 3-day state mourning to honour martyrs

In view of border tensions with Mizoram, the Assam government on Monday urged the neighbouring state to restrain its "people and Police personnel" from indulging in "wanton violence" and work towards restoring peace.  

2. INS Talwar participates in Exercise Cutlass Express 2021 in Mombasa

Indian Naval ship Talwar is participating in exercise Cutlass Express 2021, being conducted from July 26 to August 6 along the East Coast of Africa, to improve combined maritime law enforcement capacity, promote national and regional security, the Ministry of Defence has said.

3. Rajnath Singh to leave for Tajikistan to participate in SCO Defence Ministers meet

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to leave for Dushanbe, Tajikistan to participate in Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Defence Ministers meeting. Tajikistan is this year's chair of the grouping and will be holding the SCO heads of state summit in the month of September.  

4. Heavy rains cause extensive waterlogging in Delhi

Heavy rains on Tuesday morning led to extensive waterlogging on several roads stretches across Delhi, including near Pragati Maidan in central and Dhaula Kuan in the southern part of the city.  

5. Vice President hails ex-prez Kalam's contribution to country

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday paid tributes to former president A P J Abdul Kalam on his death anniversary and said his stellar contribution strengthened India's defence and space capabilities.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday attacked Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the violence at the Assam-Mizoram border, alleging that he has "failed" the country by "sowing hatred and distrust" into the lives of people and India is now reaping its "dreadful consequences".  

2. BJP may announce Karnataka CM candidate in 2 days: Sources

After successfully unseating B.S. Yediyurappa from the post of the Karnataka Chief Minister, the high command is all set to take a call on appointing a successor. BJP party sources have said that a decision in this regard will be conveyed to the parliamentary board meeting scheduled to be held on Tuesday in New Delhi.

2. Court frames terror charges against PDP leader Waheed Parra

A special court has framed terror charges against Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra, a senior PDP leader and close aide of former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, based on a police charge sheet claiming that he was an asset for Pakistan-based terror groups and that his 13-year journey as a journalist and politician from 2007 was a "saga of subterfuge, deceit and double-dealing.

Bombay High Court will be hearing Shilpa Shetty's husband and businessman Raj Kundra's plea challenging police custody and seeking bail on Tuesday in connection with pornography racket.
