1) Philippine military plane carrying 85 people crashes; 17 killed, 40 rescued

A Philippine air force C-130 aircraft carrying troops crashed in a southern province on Sunday after missing the runway and at least 40 people on board were rescued, the military chief said. Chief of Staff Gen. Cirilito Sobejana did not immediately say how many people were on board the aircraft and if there were casualties after it crashed in a village in the mountainous town of Patikul in Sulu province

2) Twitter depicts distorted India map on its website, shows J-K, Ladakh as separate

Microblogging site Twitter has once again displayed on its website a distorted map of India, this time showing Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh as not part of the country. The map appears under the Twitter website's Career section under the heading 'Tweep Life' section. The distorted map has attracted criticism from several netizens.

3) Gujarat: Five lions die of suspected Babesiosis in 15 days

At least five lions have died in Gir forests, the lone abode of the Asiatic lions situated in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat, in the past 15 days.

4) Researchers map all known victims of NSO Group's spyware Pegasus

A team of researchers has for the first time mapped all the known targets -- celebrities, journalists and human rights activists -- whose devices were hacked globally via Pegasus, a spyware developed by Israeli company NSO Group.

1) Balmiki Samaj members in Ghaziabad burn effigy of Rakesh Tikait

Days after a clash between BJP workers and anti-farm law protesters in Ghazipur on the Delhi-Uttar Pradesh border, members of Balmiki Samaj here burnt an effigy of Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait after parading it on a donkey on Saturday. The Balmiki Samaj members have been holding protests over the issue inside the Balmiki park of Navyug market here for two days

2) SIT raids office of main accused in Kolkata vaccine scam

The office of Debanjan Deb, the man behind the Kolkata alleged vaccination scam who impersonated as an IAS officer, was raided on Saturday by the Detective Department of the Special Investigation Team (SIT). According to the Kolkata Police, voluminous material, such as attendance registers, visitor slips, applications for jobs, fake tender documents and several others have been seized. Further investigation is underway.

3) MHA corrects 64 errors in adaptation of state laws orders in JK

The Home Ministry has issued a notification to correct 64 errors in amendments carried out by it post-reorganisation of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir in the laws enacted by the J&K legislature.
