Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Guwahati on his two-day visit. Folk artistes and locals gathered outside Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati for the Home Minister's welcome.

An unidentified militant was killed while two soldiers were injured during an encounter between between security forces and ultras in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, police said.

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has announced that a multi-model logistics park will be constructed in Silchar and the Balacherra-Harengajao section of the Silchar-Saurashtra Highway will be completed in March 2022.
