1. Rahul Gandhi slams Centre over farmers protest

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday slammed the Union government over farmers protest against the new agriculture laws and termed the Centre a government of 'lie and loot'. "They said farmers' income will double. What they did- increased their friend's income four times while farmers' income will be halved. Government of lie, loot and of suit-boot," the Congress leader tweeted in Hindi.

2. CM Yogi attends listing of Lucknow Municipal Corporation bond in BSE

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attended the listing of Rs 200 crore Lucknow Municipal Corporation bond at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) in Mumbai on Wednesday. The Rs 200 crore LMC bond, which was launched on November 13, was 4.5 times oversubscribed and closed at 8.5 per cent coupon rate for 10 years, which is the second-lowest rate of all the municipal bonds launched till date.

3. Farmers' agitation: Northern Railway cancels few trains

Due to agitation being conducted by farmers of Punjab, some trains run by Northern Railway have been cancelled/short terminated/short-originated/diverted. The 09613 Ajmer-Amritsar express special train journey commencing on December 2 will remain cancelled. Consequently, the 09612 Amritsar - Ajmer special train commencing on December 3 will also remain cancelled.

Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Wednesday taking a dig at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that it is not easy to shift Mumbai's film city to another place. The comment came following Yogi's visit to Mumbai where he met representatives of the film industry and Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar on Tuesday.

6. Geelani's hometown in North Kashmir boycotts DDC polls

Kashmiri separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s hometown Duroo village in north Kashmir’s Sopore area boycotted the District Development Council (DDC) polls by recording meagre 0.09 per cent voting.Duroo Village, which is Geelani’s hometown, recorded only 15 votes out of 1,600 registered voters.

7. Eight die as sand-laden truck overturns on car in Uttar Pradesh

Eight people died and one was grievously injured when a sand-laden truck overturned on their car in Uttar Pradesh's Kaushambi. Nine people were returning from a wedding ceremony in a Scorpio car when the accident occurred near Maheshwari guest house at Deviganj town at around 3.30 am.

A family in Shivpuri alleged that they were thrashed and tortured by relatives of minister Suresh Dhakad Rathkheda for not voting in favour of the ruling BJP in the recent assembly by-elections in the state.

9. Uttar Pradesh cop shoots man for resisting his misbehaviour

A policeman in Uttar Pradesh has allegedly shot at a man who objected to his sexually harassing women. The injured man, Kishan Lal, has been admitted to a hospital in Varanasi for treatment. The accused policeman has been identified as Sarvesh, who is presently posted in Gonda district.

10. China spacecraft lands on moon to bring rocks back to Earth

A Chinese spacecraft sent to return lunar rocks to Earth collected its first samples on Wednesday after landing on the moon, the government announced, adding to a string of successes for Beijing’s increasingly ambitious space program. The probe, launched Nov. 24 from the tropical southern island of Hainan, is the latest venture by a Chinese space program that sent its first astronaut into orbit in 2003, has a spacecraft en route to Mars and aims eventually to land a human on the moon.
