1. Rajinikanth's meeting with party leaders ends

Rajinikanth held a meeting with district secretaries of Rajini Makkal Mandram (RMM) at Raghavendra hall in the city. Announcement on whether or not he will contest in the 2021 Assembly election will be made soon. In October this year, the actor hinted that his long-awaited entry to electoral politics may be delayed. A letter attributed to him cited doctors' concern over campaigning during the pandemic and the potential impact on Rajinikanth's health.

2. Amit Shah, Narendra Singh Tomar hold talks with JP Nadda on farmers' issue

Union Home Ministers Amit Shah, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar held deliberations over the farmers' protest against the three central farm laws with BJP president JP Nadda on Sunday evening. Around 32 farmer bodies, mostly from Punjab, and a few farmers from Gujarat and Maharashtra as well managed to reach Delhi on Friday and assembled at the border areas to continue their protest.

3. BJP ticket will not be given to Muslims: Karnataka Minister Eshwarappa

Karnataka Minister and BJP leader KS Eshwarappa has stated that the party ticket might be given to Hindu candidates from any community but not to a Muslim. "We might give the party ticket to any community among Hindus. Whoever we might give it to -- maybe Lingayats, Kurubas, Vokkaligas, or Brahmins but definitely, it will not be given to Muslims," Eshwarappa told media.

4. Indian origin Neera Tandon may get top White House job

US President-elect Joe Biden intends to nominate Indian-American Neera Tanden as the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, a top position inside the White House responsible for managing the administration's budget, according to media reports. Tanden's nomination is a part of Biden plan to build a team of liberal and centrist economic advisers to serve alongside planned Treasury Secretary nominee Janet Yellen, The Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday.

5.Rajasthan BJP MLA Kiran Maheshwari dies of COVID-19

BJP MLA from Rajasthan's Rajsamand, Kiran Maheshwari, who was undergoing treatment for COVID-19 at Medanta Hospital in Haryana's Gurugram passed away on late Sunday night. She had tested positive for COVID-19 on October 28 after which she was admitted to a local hospital in Udaipur. However, after her health deteriorated, she was shifted to Medanta hospital.

6. Biden chooses an all-female senior White House press team

President-elect Joe Biden will have an all-female senior communications team at his White House, led by campaign communications director Kate Bedingfield. Bedingfield will serve as Biden's White House communications director, and Jen Psaki, a longtime Democratic spokeswoman, will be his press secretary.

7. Delhi's air quality turns 'very poor'

Delhi's air quality turned very poor on Monday and is predicted to deteriorate further with calm winds and low temperature allowing the accumulation of pollutants. The city's air quality index (AQI) was 307. The 24-hour average AQI was 268 on Sunday. It was231 on Saturday, 137 on Friday, 302 on Thursday and 413 on Wednesday.

8.Gurupurab: Chandigarh-based artist makes optical illusion portrait of Guru Nanak Dev

A Chandigarh-based visual artist has made an optical illusion portrait of Guru Nanak Dev on the eve of 551st Prakash Parv of the first Sikh Guru. The portrait is kept at Gurdwara Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib in sector 34 in Chandigarh. The artist, Varun Tandon said, "I made this using 551 'Ek Onkar' (opening words of Guru Granth Sahib).

9. BSP demands UP govt reconsider decision on 'love jihad' law

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Monday said that the party demands that the government reconsider on Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Ordinance, 2020. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led UP Cabinet had cleared the ordinance, proposing a maximum punishment of 10 years and fine for "love jihad" related offences on November 24.

10. Farmers clash in MP's Morena, shots fired

Two groups of farmers clashed following a dispute at Padavali Society, Morena Agricultural Produce Market Complex resulting in the firing. One farmer, who was injured in the incident, is undergoing treatment at the hospital.Farmers from Ganjrampur village started arguing with Vijendra Gurjar of Padwali village about the use of electric forklift scale for weighing millet. Supporters of Vijendra Singh allegedly opened fire.
