1. PM Modi encourages students, says ample opportunities available for employment amid pandemic

Keeping the spirit of optimism high amidst the ongoing pandemic situation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said major changes are taking place around the world and there are several opportunities available for the growth of entrepreneurship and employment. The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of a 45 MW Production Plant of Monocrystalline Solar Photo Voltaic Panel and Centre of Excellence on Water Technology at the university, and inaugurate the Innovation and Incubation Centre - Technology Business Incubation, Translational Research Centre and Sports Complex.

2. India reports 46,232 new COVID-19 cases, tally at 90.50 lakh

India's COVID-19 caseload rose to 90.50 lakh, while the number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to over 84.78 lakh pushing the national recovery rate to 93.67 per cent, according to the Union Health Ministry data on Saturday.

3. Soldier killed in ceasefire violation by Pak in Jammu and Kashmir

A Personnel of the Indian Army was killed in a ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district. The Indian Army retaliated strongly to silence the Pakistani guns. Even as New Delhi appeared poised to summon the Pakistan Deputy Chief of Mission over the Nagrota attack, an Indian soldier was killed on Saturday in ceasefire violations at the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district.

4.Elaborate security arrangements ahead of Amit Shah's Chennai visit

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be on a two-day visit to the state to launch multiple infrastructure projects. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and other Ministers, BJP leaders are scheduled to welcome Amit Shah in Chennai Airport at 1.40 pm. A total of 3,000 police is on security duty at all important locations, including the Chennai Airport, MRC Nagar Star Hotel Complex and Kalaivanar Arangam.

5. YouTuber opposes Rs 500 cr defamation notice by Akshay Kumar

YouTuber Rashid Siddiquee has opposed the defamation notice issued against him by actor Akshay Kumar in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput death case and refused to pay Rs 500 crore damages sought by the star, saying there was nothing defamatory in his videos. Kumar had on November 17 issued a defamation notice against Siddiquee seeking Rs 500 crore in damages for making "false and baseless allegations" against him in Rajput''s death case.

6. Covid-19 contaminated letters could be new threat for political figures, warns Interpol

Interpol, the international criminal police organisation, has warned law enforcement agencies across the world to exercise caution and beware of Covid-19 contaminated letters that could target political figures. The international agency said that certain infected individuals may deliberately move from affected areas to non-affected areas, despite their medical condition and any travel restrictions in place.

7. AG agrees to contempt proceedings against Kunal Kamra for tweets on CJI

Following Kunal Kamra's tweet on the Chief Justice of India (CJI) SA Bobde, Attorney General of India (AG) KK Venugopal on Friday gave consent to initiate a contempt petition against the stand-up comedian. Earlier this week, Kunal had posted a photo of him from inside a flight showing his two fingers and captioned it writing that "One of these 2 fingers is for CJI Arvind Bobde.....ok let me not confuse you it's the middle one".

8. Chhattisgarh: Cybercrime saw spike during lockdown

With more than 250 cases related to cybercrime being reported in Chhattisgarh's Raipur every month, the graph of cybercrime has increased rapidly during the lockdown in the state. Online fraud cases have increased in the state during the last 8 months of lockdown and due to lack of technical staff at Chhattisgarh police stations complaints related to cybercrime are not being resolved soon.

9. Puri 'custodial death': SP transferred; SI, constables suspended

A day after the alleged custodial death of a man in Odisha's Puri, the state government on Friday transferred Superintendent of Police Akhileshwar Singh to SP headquarters, while suspended a sub-inspector (SI) and two constables of Baselisahi police station, where the incident occurred, for "gross misconduct and negligence in duty".

10. 4.0 magnitude quake strikes Manipur's Ukhrul

An earthquake of a magnitude 4.0 on the Richter Scale hit the Ukrul area of Manipur on Saturday, the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) reported.The earthquake hit at the depth of 30 km and tremors were felt at 1019 hours today. No causalities and damage to property have been reported so far.
