New Delhi:DelhiPolice Commissioner Rakesh Asthana on Monday issued instructions to provide tight security to all those judges hearing the cases of high profile gangsters. Last month, the killing of notorious gangster Jitender Mann 'Gogi' and two other criminals at Room number 207 of the Rohini court in northwest Delhi, highlighted a huge security lapse in court premises. It is in this context that a significant decision has been taken by the Delhi top cop.
According to sources, around 534 personnel who have been deployed to protect several retired police officers and judges who do not require protection as such, have been instructed to report back to their units. These policemen will now be deployed to protect the judges. The police commissioner has also prepared a list of those judges in seven district courts who are hearing cases of notorious gangsters.
