Deoria: The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Uttar Pradesh found themselves in an embarrassing situation after a group of thieves fled away with their vehicle when a police sub-inspector was taking a nap inside it. The policemen were flummoxed when SOG in-charge Ghanshyam Singh apprised the police Superintendent Dr Shripati Mishra of the incident and cops registered a complaint and launched a hunt to nab the thieves.

On Sunday night, the police vehicle was parked outside the office of SOG and the newly-transferred police sub-inspector from Khushinagar was sleeping inside the vehicle. What is even more shocking is that the thieves told the officer to vacate the vehicle and fled away with it.

The police officers searched far and wide but were unable to trace the vehicle. Acting swiftly on the incident, police registered a complaint and launched a massive hunt to arrest the thieves.

According to Mishra, police have filed a complaint and a search operation has been initiated to trace the car. Police have scanned the CCTV footages of Kotwali road, Motilal road, Jalkal road, Vijay Talkies, New colony and civil lines and Kasaya road but have failed to achieve a breakthrough.
