Thane: Two killed after third-floor roof plummets to ground

According to reports, the structural integrity of the concrete ceiling failed in a portion of the third floor of the building. The collapsed building structure knocked down roofs on the second and first floors, crushing two residents on the ground floor to death and injuring another.

Thane:Two people were killed after a roof in a residential building at Rabodi in Thane collapsed on Sunday morning.

According to reports, the structural integrity of the concrete ceiling failed in a portion of the third floor of the building. The collapsed building structure knocked down roofs on the second and first floors, crushing two residents on the ground floor to death and injuring another.

The Disaster Management Team of Thane Municipal Corporation responded swiftly to the incident and moved 24 families in the building to safety.

The DMT pulled out the bodies of the two deceased — Ramiz Sheikh (32) and Gauss Tamboli (38) from the rubble. A man named Arman Tamboli was admitted to a private hospital in the city.

Khatri Apartment in Thane where the incident took place is 25-years-old. Thane has been receiving torrential rainfall over the past two days.
