Mumbai: The terror operatives arrested by the Delhi police's Special Cell were reportedly plotting to attack Mumbai local trains by releasing toxic chemicals during peak hours to inflict maximum damage.
The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad stumbled upon the revelations during the interrogation of Mumbai-based suspect Jaan Mohammad Sheikh who was arrested along with five others for allegedly planning several blasts across the country during the upcoming festivals.
The state police in association with other agencies beefed up security at railway premises and other major installations in Mumbai following Sheikh's arrest in Rajasthan's Kota on September 14.
